lighttpd - sudden jump in CPU usage?
I run an image host and decided to serve my images using lighttpd because I had heard good things about it's ability to serve static content. I kept Apache as my main webserver (listening on x.x.x.58) and had lighttpd listening on a different IP (x.x.x.59). I made a subdomain called images.mydomain.com which pointed at the new lighttpd server and served images from that.
Everything seemed to be going reasonably ok until the I checked the server load and it was really high. 'Top' showed that lighttpd was taking up 98%-99% of CPU usage! I restarted lighttpd and everything was back to normal, but it was pretty unnerving. Has anyone had this problem? I've switched back to Apache until I can get this problem sorted out, but I haven't heard much about it.
I'm using lighttpd 1.4.8.. btw.
