FTP index question

Well I have a template that I like a lot but Its not edited so i DO NOT want it as my homepage

Just look at it and you can see its straight out of its package un-edited.

I have my own template real easily made that I want to upload for now... How do i change it to do that in my SmartFTP client? I want it to be the homepage for now
