Please help me to reduce memory usage for httpsd&httpd

I just bought my first dedicated server and would like to ask for help to reduce memory usage. Right after restarting the top command shows several instances of httpsd and httpd like this:

psaadm 4 0 48656K 15784K accept 0:00 0.00% 0.00% httpsd
apache 20 0 24224K 18472K lockf 0:00 0.00% 0.00% httpd

I think this is abnormal, am I right?

The server runs on FreeBSD 5.3, Apache 2.0.54, Plesk 7.5.4 (LT Christmas offer). I have disabled Tomcat. The superfluous MODs are also disabled in httpd.conf, but I have no success Please help me to reduce memory usage for httpsd&httpd Please help me to spot the reason or point me to links or keywords.

I do not use SSL for my projects, only Plesk CP uses it. Are there any ways to get rid of several of 48MB httpsd copies?
