how to recover data from other hdd

hi please i want some help to resolve this problem !

i have reload my server os and my provider add new hdd for me then they move the old hdd to master channer on second IDE

and i want ask how can i get my data from this hard disk to the new one ?

they sayed it is on hdc


i try to access by | cd /dev/hdc |

but shell say it isn't directory

can any one suggest any thing to recover my old data
