CIDR/Net's
First off - Sorry liason if this is in the wrong section, It wasn't really dedi/web related etc.. and I didn't think it would fit in general very good.. Since its a bit technical of a question..Anyway theres no true issue - But i'm trying to make sense of CIDR
I'm aware /32 is a single IP etc.
192.168.x.x is a /16
But this is basic stuff..
I've gone through the entire RFC a few weeks ago trying to make sense of it. I didn't get much from it.
But for larger setups.. Say my ISP's setup they have
NetRange: 24.64.0.0 - 24.71.255.255
CIDR: 24.64.0.0/13
How the heck does /13 equal 24.64.x.x->24.71.x.x ?
I'm not asking for a handout or anything, just a bit lost with it - i'm more interested in the formula, I obviously have no need for it all the time its just a tidbit i'd like to learn.
Thanks!
