I'm considering switching to lighttpd due to Apache causing high server loads which, in turn, makes the server to be unresponsive. I have to restart httpd often due to many simultaneous downloads, even limitd 2 connections per IP. But then, I'm not sure how the switch will impact Cpanel/WHM. Does htaccess work with lighttpd? What other stuff will be impacted? It should be a long list.
On the other hand, maybe I should just upgrade to Apache 2.0 since it's more compatible. I probably don't have to worry as much, am I right? Is 2.0 a big improvement over 1.3? Is it worth the hassle? Please shed some light on this, no pun intended lol
