SSL certificate help

I have recently purchased an SSL certificate for a site and am having some trouble with placing the secure logo on the correct pages. We have a log-in name and password section on the home page which we need encrypted. Now, once the user logs in there are no more pages that need to be encrypted, for the time being, and this is where the problem lies.

See, the index.php file for the home page is being referenced throughout the site so if the logo is placed on the home page then it is also placed throughout the site which is not optimal. I'm wondering if there is some sort of script that can be placed on the index.php file that allows it only to place the logo on that page only. If you have any suggestion on how to do this then please let me know. Thank you.
