Total Bandwidth - Virtual Hosts

I am planning to setup a cheap host, and it would be really nice to have something like cPanel's bandwidth monitoring (limit the bandwidth and be able to see how much you have used so far).

mod_curl is looking great, except it doesn't work for virtual hosts! (http://www.steve.org.uk/Software/mod_curb/)

I can program PHP, if that is any help (but I don't think it will be very much)
