CTR-F5 problems

Hi All,

Ok Before I start here are the specs.

RedHat 9.0
Apache 2.2.0
PHP 5.1.2

I have written a very simple program in PHP which reads 20 records from an MySQL (5.0.18) database and prints it on the screen 5 times. So we get 100 lines of text.

Now I run in once and everyting is fine.

When I decided to give it a test, I pressed CTRL-F5 and kept it down for about 30-50 seconds.

As I kept watching the resources, my memory got full up, my virtual memory got full up, the processor was at max and a few seconds later the httpd dies and the server had to be rebooted.

Now this is not a huge hacking attempt, yet it broke the server.

I have mod_evasive and mod_security installed with their default settings, I have APF installed WITH ad turned on.

Why aren't any of these buggers stopping this really stupid hack attempt?

Any help appreciated.
