Another issue.....GHOST related, please HELP
e're using Ghost Corporate 8 to manage our 21 gig image on about 25 machines. We are able to push and pull images nicely. But, there are a few things not working properly and some little hang-ups here and there that I'm hoping someone can help with1) right now, the machines do not properly get put back into the domain. So, after a push, I have to reset each machine account.
Because they could not automatically do this (at least with how I have it set up), I have to then go put each into the domain manually. Ghost has some options for this, but I've not had any of them work. Any ideas?
2) If a machine completely dies (i.e. someone deletes the windows directory, etc) we have to install windows completely, install NIC drivers, set up the machine on the domain, give it a name, etc. What is the fastest way to create a XP installer or image that would be a MINIMAL AND FAST install so I can push the Ghost client to the machine?
Is it fastest to:
1) create a new XP image, strip it down and pull that image and burn it to a CD? Then install that image standalone?
2) Is there a minimal Windows install somewhere that takes next to no time compared to the regular install?
3) Am I missing something in Ghost that can push an image to a machine by physical address instead of by IP / machine name?
