Apache is making the LOAD SHOOT VERY HIGH...Need help...
Hi guys,I have a cpanel/whm, centos 4 server with apache 1.3.34 and php 4.4.2.
Most of the day, the server is just fine, but every few hours or so randomly spread throughout the day, the serverload will SHOOT up into the hundreds .
I have a:
AMD 3000+
512 mb ram
server, and while most of the ram is usually used up, the page swap file has 900000 mb ( almost a gig ) free memory, and sometimes 200 of that is used up but that's about it.
What can I do to prevent these load sky rockets? I just rebuilt apache clean, and mod evasive and mod sec have not been included yet because it didn't help earlier...
thing I don't understand, is i've been monitoring the server with /server-status/ all the time and well, the number of connections is always like 110-160 ( I think 150,160 is the cap).
