DoiT moves deeper into data spend visibility with Select acquisition
DoiT has acquired Select, a specialist in automated cost management and optimization for the Snowflake data platform, as cloud buyers increasingly struggle to understand and control data-related spending. The deal expands DoiT’s financial operations focus beyond infrastructure and into data workloads, an area many organizations now view as a growing blind spot.
The acquisition brings Select’s optimization technology into DoiT Cloud Intelligence, where it will operate under the name PerfectScale for Snowflake. With this addition, DoiT aims to give customers clearer insight into how they consume Snowflake resources, while also enabling automated actions that reduce waste without disrupting performance or data quality. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Data platforms have become a major and often unpredictable cost line. As companies dive deeper into analytics, reporting, and AI workloads, their Snowflake usage jumps around—a lot. Finance and data teams usually don’t have the right tools to connect what’s happening on the technical side with real business outcomes. DoiT steps in with Select, a technology that bridges this gap. It takes all those queries and resource stats and turns them into clear cost controls that teams can actually use.
A group of data engineers started Select because they were tired of all the little headaches—misconfigured compute, bad queries, wasted resources. Their platform steps in and handles optimization in real time. So, instead of engineers constantly fixing things by hand, the system just keeps everything running smoothly on its own. By folding this capability into its broader CloudOps and FinOps stack, DoiT is extending a model it previously applied to infrastructure into the data layer.
This deal also fits into a broader acquisition strategy. Over the past year, DoiT has added capabilities across Kubernetes operations, cloud architecture visibility, and multi-cloud security posture. Earlier purchases, including CloudWize, PerfectScale, and LiveDiagrams, reflect a push toward unified automation across cost, reliability, and governance. The Select acquisition builds on that direction by addressing one of the fastest growing areas of cloud spend.
DoiT stated that existing Select customers will see no immediate changes to contracts, pricing, or support. Meanwhile, the Select team will continue developing PerfectScale for Snowflake and contribute to DoiT’s longer-term roadmap for data platform optimization. As enterprises face tighter scrutiny over cloud budgets, the move highlights a growing industry shift toward treating data platforms as first-class citizens in financial operations.
