Microsoft doubles down on Singapore as AI demand reshapes regional cloud strategy

Microsoft plans to invest $5.5 billion in Singapore’s cloud and AI infrastructure by 2029, sharpening its focus on Southeast Asia’s rising demand for compute and digital skills. The move follows a separate Thailand commitment and reflects intensifying regional competition. The funding will support capacity expansion, cybersecurity, and workforce development as Singapore reinforces its position as a key hub for enterprise cloud and AI adoption.
