should I use redhat 7.1 nic drivers or straight from intel?

Im dealing with network issues and connection drops with my colo server and am just trying to narrow things down and make sure everything is set ok.

I have a intel pro/100+ management adaptor in their and its supported with drivers on the redhat 7.1 instalation cd. The info I get from the driver notes though is something dated in 99 updated in 2000 with a url that doesn't even exist. Also I can't see any documentation or where to find it on redhats site about the specific driver being used. it isn't actually named the same thing intel uses although I dont know if that makes a difference.

Now I see intel has some updated linux drivers on their site that are just weeks old so in theory should be newer and better than whats on redhats cd.

the problem Im having is without documentation of the redhat drives I really don't know what im dealing with right? I cant get the info on syntax and configuring the sucker. specifically duplex mode so i make sure it matches the network.

Is their any reason I shouldn't trust intel drivers straight from them? You would think they would be best and then I could atleast use their documentation and get help from their site right?
