ping timeout?
Does anyone know what might be causing my modem to ping timeout when pinging itself?I am pinging 10.70.0.1 right now, and according to my ISP 10.70.0.1 is MY ip, just internally. i hav ebeen having this packet loss problem, i don't know why, but my isp asked me to ping that IP, then they said it had to be my computer.
When i ping that ip, most of th etime it's steady. But sometimes i get packet loss, i shouldnt get any at all.

Does anyone have any idea why I might be getting this packet loss? to myself? Is it my os? i run windows 98, i cleared everything from control panel > network, rebooted, and had it re-install my drivers, when installing, it said i had newer drivers, would i like to keep them, or replace them with older, cus there was a version conflict, i hit keep them, so i dunno
Does anyone have any clue why I this could be happening? i switched ethernet cards also, didnt fix it
