Untimely Email Delivery?

Hi all,

Occassionally, we receive reports from our hosting customers that e-mails sent by them aren't being received in a timely manner. I have been unable to duplicate this issue, though the majority of reports appear to be isolated to Yahoo.com mail recipients. Of course, when I setup and send mail to my own Yahoo account, it arrives immediately.

In one particular instance, a new customer complained that welcome messages and instructions were not received. [Very bad!] After manual retries failed, I verified that the mail server's delivery logs showed "message received successfully" by MX.MAIL.YAHOO.COM. The message was delivered to Yahoo in under a second. Nonetheless, this customer insists that no messages were received. What gives?

Where do I go from here?
