A *single* IP or dedicated IP for *each* domain/website hosted (19 on 1 machine) ?

Hello,

I'm a first time web host with a single dedicated/co-located machine thrust upon me to administer!

I have been asked to set up 19 web sites (each with unique.com registered domain names) on one machine.

Should I request my ISP provide a unique IP for each domain/web site to be hosted? Or all under on IP?

What I'm asking - will it be easier/faster/or simpler for me to administer these sites - if they each have their own assigned unique IP. As opposed to *one* IP and a number of "virtual" web sites!

Some of these sites will have .htaccess user/password and member tracked, subscription/paid services. (I dont know if unique IP effects the way apache user/passwords are handled.) Some may have ssl requirements.

The co located system is Dialtone Internet in Florida - runnig linux, red hat 6.22 apache 1.3.20.

I hope to make my job easier - in the long run!

TIA!
