Clear Explanation of DNS and Plesk?
I am in dire need of some help explaining the use/administration of DNS with Plesk 2.0
Let me start off by saying that I have just received my first ever dedicated server from Pegasus, previous to this my only experience has been with using virtual servers where DNS servers were already provided.
My domain DF3.net was registered through Joker.com and I used domain servers provided by Linuxwebhost.com.
I am in a quandry about how I get this domain onto my new box. I beleive I currently have been allocated one IP, but I don't know whether or not I have DNS servers. Do I need more than one IP to run DNS servers? How do I set these up in Plesk?
Once my DNS have been setup, is it a simple case of logging onto my domain management at Joker.com and changing the DNS for my domain to the ones I have created on my server? Do I need to register these DNS anywhere else?
If someone could provide an idiot's guide to this, I would greatly appreciate.
