server busy errors
Does anyone know about the cause of getting the Frontpage error message when you try to login to edit a web in Frontpage--server error: Web <root web> is busy. Please try again.
I signed up with this web hosting company and they were fine for the first month and a half, but then we started having trouble logging into the site (I run the site with about ten other people and we all login to edit the site with Frontpage).
The technical support guys have told me two different things. One, they say that every time we have a bad connection or lose our connection to their server, it corrupts the FP extensions, and that's what's causing this problem. So they have reinstalled FP extensions twice, but it didn't work and we had these errors immediately after they reinstalled it. Two, they pointed me to this page: http://216.74.88.250/manual/chapter7.html
where it says you have to delete this file
"service.lck" file in /public_html/_vti_pvt.
They did this and still it happened again, and now they are telling me that it has to be deleted again. Neither deleting this file or reinstalling extensions is working but they don't seem to know any other fixes.
And they haven't explained why none of this happened the first month and a half, or why it never happened to me with previous providers (same exact web page). I've asked it but they ignore me. I get the idea they don't really know what they're doing.
These errors are very annoying as they happen several times a day, sometimes for hours.
I don't think if I call Microsoft, that they will help me with this since the problem is on my web hosting provider's end, not mine.
Can anyone help with this or make any helpful suggestions (other than switching providers or giving up Frontpage)?
Thanks
