Updating OpenSSL - Driving me nuts!!

I just installed RH 7.2 on a new server, it comes with openssl-0.9.6b-28. As you know, there are security flaws with versions D and earlier. I want to upgrade to f.

Guess what happens when I upgrade the RPM? Comes out with a list of a billion things that would break the dependencies of other programs. Am I missing something really simple / extremely hard here?
