Hyperthreading and Apache?

I have a dual xeon 1.8 Ghz server ... w/ hyperthreading.

Cpanel etc shows 4 CPUs ... does hyperthreading actually help? And if not, will apache be supporting it soon [because I think it would help quite a bit]
