mySQL prob

I've tried connecting to mySQL using 2 different clients, and still it gives me this error:

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'domain.com' (10054)


Why is this? What have i done wrong? I'm trying to login as root to it, and ive set my pass and it still dont work
