Help: Checking Email using IMAP very slow, POP is Ok
I am a reseller. I am trying to check my email using IMAP, response from server is very slow (more that 10 seconds), after that i received all the message headers. If I use POP i have no problem, it is very fast. (At this moment i have a test email account just with 1 message)
I opened a telnet session to port 143 (IMAP) and I got the imap message after 10 o more seconds. Looks like there is a problem with the imap port to accept the connection. I opened a telnet session to port 110 and i get the pop message from the server very fast.
What can I suggest to test to my provider?
He says, everything is ok. Load server is very low , always less that 1. (0.20 right now) and CPU idle is more that 90%.
Server specs: Linux, PIV 2.0 , 1 GB RAM, CPANEL.
