We recently upgraded our servers per instructions from the Webhost Manager. After doing so, we noticed that all sites that used password protection would get an Unexpected Network Read Error. If the .htaccess file is removed, the server displays the page without a problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? How did you go about fixing it. There is a long thread on the CPanel forums, but their problem seems to be with mod_perl. We do not have mod_perl enabled on the server.
