MU* bandwith requirements?
Anyone have experience hosting the old-school non-graphical MU*'s? (MUDS, MOOS, MUSHes, etc) I'm wondering what the monthly bandwith requirements are for them... figure average 5-10 users, max 25-30, based on some observations. I know they're a tiny drop in the bucket compared to a lot of graphical multi-user games... I just don't know how tiny. Is 1GB adequate? 2? 5? Most of the existing providers don't seem to charge for or meter bandwith, just limit memory and disk usage, which suggests that bandwith is, relatively speaking, negligible.I've asked a few MUSH admins, and they don't seem to know, for the reasons above - nobody really limits MUSH bandwith. There's mention in the USENET archives of people running 10-user MUDs on 14.4 and 28.8 dialups in the "olden days", so I can't imagine it's that huge...
Thanks.
