Moveable type and cgi-bin
I'm trying to install movabletype now for 3 days. But it doesn't work.
my situation:
I have installed everything correct i think.
I follow the install instruction and i have this files images, docs, and styles.css placed in a map called mt-static.
The rest of the files i have placed in my cgi-bin map.
So if i want to access the control panel everything is ok.
But the problems started if i push the button "view site"
The pop-up screen shows nothing.
Then i try the url of my site. But there appears nothing.
Then problem 2
I thought maby it comes trought that i placed the files into the cgi-bin dir.
So i placed all the files in the webdir. Try the site and ... yes i see my site. But then the next problem is i can't access the mt.cgi file so i can't place some new items, can't configure the weblog.
for example i tried this: www.mysite.com/weblog <- the place where the files are located + the cgi files. hen i see my site. then i try www.mysite.com/weblog/mt.cgi i get an download screen that downloads the mt.cgi file. So i can't get in the control panel
the permissions are good i think. but i get the hold time this error:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access to this document on this server.
Maby i can fix this with a .htaccess file? But i don't know the right commands for it.
my errorlog says the hole time:
Invalid command 'AllowIndex', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration. (that was when i tried to include the command allowindex into the .htaccess file.)
or i get this error: attempt to invoke directory as script and if i want to open www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/mt/index.html i get this one: Premature end of script headers
I know it's a long story. But please help me.
I have spend more then 50 hours to get this work but i'm stuck.
