Limiting file sizes of subdomain folders

Hello, I am a newbie when it comes to being at website admin.

I am running my website and the account I have allows me to create subdomains. I have given some friends their own subdomain and given them ftp accounts so that they can control their own little site.

However, I would like to be able to limit the size that their subdomain accounts can reach. I know that if I had a superior account with my current webhost I would be able to control their account sizes and when I create email accounts limiting the folder size if self explanitory.

However, I dont know how to place a limit on folders. My webhosting account is limited to 200 megs and I would like to learn how I can for example some how place a limit on the size of any folder in my root directory (and in my public_html directory) Your help is much appreciated.
