Small footprint SMTP only service for Windows servers

Does anyone know of a small, cheap or free SMTP service for win2k, win2k3 that runs as a service and does nothing but allow the local server to send email?

I am looking for something to allow windows servers to send alerts, but don't want to mess with larger SMTP services that require a lot of config, have security holes, or require a lot of other software to be installed - like the SMTP service that comes with IIS.
