I am trying to hook up a Travan TreeFrog robotic tape library system which is manufactured by SpectraLogic. Purchased used from a working environment.
System is a Windows 2000 Server, SCSI PCI card and the 2ndary port is terminated. Windows see's the unit in Hardware manager and Veritas see's the unit in it's inventory.
Problem:
When starting a job, the robotics activate and place the tapes in their respective drives. However, veritas returns timed out errors and the library stalls out.
Has anyone had any experience with these older units in a Windows environment and willing to lend some advice on what to try next in the lines of troubleshooting?
I have tried
re-installing veritas
re-installing Adaptec software
Checking SCSI id's
Moving SCSI card to different slot
replacing cable
