How many clients on a server and with what possibilities?
Hi all!I'd like to start doing webhosting and I have a question regarding server usage.
Given is the following server:
Intel Pentium 4 with 2.0 GHz
1 GB of RAM
50 GB of Space
650 GB of traffic
Ensim Pro 250 (which means, max. customers: 250, since every customer has at least one domain name)
RedHat 7.3
No overselling!
250 customers have 200MB and 2.6 GB traffic.
125 customers have 400MB and 5.2 GB traffic.
etc.
My assumption: "They take what I offer"!
My questions:
How many MySQL databases are "sound" for my server?
I think 60 databases are manageable for the server, aren't they?
PHP to 250 customers? (I'm thinking of boards, which don't require MySQL to run, but worse only a flat file!)
-> so only connected with the 60 databases?
Same for CGI/Perl: 60 customers
Domains, Subdomains: Since domains are limited to 250, the question is, how many subdomains are "sound"? For a 200MB customer (250 total on the server) 5 subdomains [total 1250 subdomains]? Or only 1?
How many domain pointings? 2 per 200MB customers? Making a total of 500 domain pointings?
How many E-mail-addresses (Ensim calls them user)? 2 per 200MB? Making a total of 500 e-mail-addresses?
Mailing-Lists (Majordomo): How many e-mails can the server handle without being too busy for other stuff?
FrontPageExtensions: How much does it load the server more? Only for 60 customers?
SSI: Same as FrontPageExtensions: only for 60 customers?
Backup capabilities: If done, makes this the server noticable more slowly? (If I would offer backup capabilites, I'd buy another 50GB HD)
Any other things, which could have an impact?
Thank you very very much!
(I did a search but didn't find anything related)
