Debian question -> eth setup

I just installed Debian 3.0 woody. My server has 2 network interface cards, one connected to internet (first) and the other one to local network (second).

During the installation, the first nic was detected and installed successfully.

But after the installation done, it did not detect the second nic.

Should I setup it manually ?

Is there any tools to do this ?

I dont install X btw because this server will be used only as gateway from local network to the internet.

I used to use RedHat, usually RH will detect ALL nic during installation, and I can manually edit network configuration in /etc/sysconfig/.

I read the debian installation manual from debian.org, but I did not get any clue.

And this is one of my new Debian installation Debian question -> eth setup I hate that I should not use RH anymore, because I used it for several years Debian question -> eth setup

Anyone can help ?

Thanks.
