kswapd crashing server?

We've been having issues with this one server. Every 24 hours kswapd starts taking the load out of control.. im not exactly sure why. We've been having issues with this server ever since we bought it. We've returned it twice, and once got all the hardware ( but for hd's ) replaced.. or so we were told. When we did get it back, it did seem to run fine.. at least for a while.

Anyone else having issues with kswapd taking the system down?

Here is a bit of info on the server:
Giga-byte 8LD533
Pentium 4 2.66
2 GB Ram

Running the latest redhat kernel 2.4.20-27.9 w/ redhat 9.

I'm thinking of just ripping this beast to pieces and using it for spare parts. But if someone else has had this problem and had come up with a fix or might know what is causing this.. i'd appreciate it. And just for the record its is not used very heavily, very very very light useage ( when it was in production ).
