I installed apf on a new server, and found that with egress filtering enabled up2date cannot connect. Then when I rebooted I lost access and servermatrix said
I also had to stop iptables, as it was not allowing up2date to contact it's server, and it was also probably what was denying you access to the machine.
For now I've disabled egress filtering, but I need to find out which ports I need to enable for up2date to function normally and allow egress filtering.
