Apache failing so many times - error log

Apache is failing in one server several times a day. Today it restarted 30 or 40 times.
It´s happening after some security changes in the server (not made by me).

I checked in erro log and I found this error in the exactly time of the last fail.

[Mon Jun 14 16:58:10 2004] [warn] pid file /usr/local/apache/logs/httpd.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previous Apac$
[Mon Jun 14 16:58:10 2004] [notice] Apache/1.3.31 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.$

[Mon Jun 14 16:58:10 2004] [notice] Accept mutex: sysvsem (Default: sysvsem)

Any help?
Thanks,
