I have been wondering whether it is better to utilize xinetd or not for pop and imap services. It seems like they take up extra resources so I am wondering what benefit there is to it in my situation (which is basically just webhosting services for a few dozen clients in the US)? I have read that is recommended NOT to use xinetd with ftp due to denial of service attacks. Would the same be true for mail service?
