Server Load 100...

I only have 1 forum(invision 1.3) hosted on this server and the server load ranges from 1 to 100 and it randomly crashes all the time. The server gets about 400 users per 30 minutes and uses 8 query with gzip disabled.

the server is amd xp 2400+ with 512 mb ram

anything I can do the reduce the load?
