So many ftp requets in /var/log/messages !!!
I always see so many ftp requests in my logs.There is no anonymous ftp enabled on server.The strange thing is that they are all come from localhost 127.0.0.1.
I think there is some provision so that if I add some lines in /etc/named.conf file I can block it.or I am not sure someone is port scanning my server or what are they exactly..
Here are few lines I see:
Jul 11 04:14:43 server proftpd[1902]: server.xxx.com (localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP no transfer timeout, disconnected
Jul 11 04:14:44 server proftpd[1911]: server.xxx.com (localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP no transfer timeout, disconnected
Jul 11 04:14:45 server proftpd[1902]: server.xxx.com (localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP session closed.
Jul 11 04:14:45 server proftpd[1911]: server.xxx.com (localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP session closed.
