rDNS Entry Not Matching Error
My server has 2 ip addresses, xxx.xxx.xxx.65 AKA xyz.SOMENAMESUPPLIEDBYHOST.net and xxx.xxx.xxx.66I am running a mail server listed on xyz.SOMENAMESUPPLIEDBYHOST.net (xxx.xxx.xxx.65), and a couple of sites on xxx.xxx.xxx.66
I asked my host to add a reverse DNS entry for xxx.xxx.xxx.66 which they did. However, when I lookup rDNS for xxx.xxx.xxx.66 on dnsstuff.com I get an error, "A record does not point back to original IP" because it's pointing to xyz.SOMENAMESUPPLIEDBYHOST.net (xxx.xxx.xxx.65).
When I asked my host about this, they stated that since they are not managing my DNS servers, they can't do anything. I am using zoneedit to manage DNS.
Is there something I can edit in my zoneedit settings to resolve this, or is there some way my host can resolve this?
Thanks.
