How secure/insecure is automatic provisioning of webhosting?
Quick question:
How secure/insecure is automatic provisioning of webhosting?
I've just setup a new dedicated box, and wanted to completely automate the process of:
1. Customer signup
2. Customer account creation; and
3. Automatic monthly billing
We've just purchased Modernbill and are going through the all the fun that comes with installing and configuring that monster.
The reason i ask is, I've heard a few people recommend against automatic provisioining because of fraud concerns?
Is this a valid a concern, and if so, what steps do we have to take to prevent fraud?
And just out curiosity - who here does automatic provisioning vs manual provisioning?
Just trying to way up the pro's and con's of automated account setups.
