DNS question (lame maybe...)

I've been reselling for some time with a provider and now I'm moving to another which gives me the chance to have my own DNS.

I've already registered ns1 and ns2 with new IPs but the main domain still points to my ol' good provider dns. Would that fact somehow affect in any way my new DNS? I would like to migrate my entire domain but I'm waiting for DNS to propagate in order to be shure they will work. Will my new clients' domains work fine with this configuration in the meantime?
