windows media player 9 issue - please help me!
I was using her computer and downloaded win. media player v.9 or v10 .. not sure .. and played a video...
well anyways, she hates media player for various reasons.. she uses the winAmp to play all her wmv videos... or mpeg's....
last night she is telling me how win media player gave her to many problems... it changed the default setting for playing media files... which she changed back to playback with winAmp... and now she is telling me how media player opens up certain ports on her computer which leaves the computer open for virus.. and she have been getting microsoft's popups... she claiming that windows media installed some kind of spyware...
she uninstalled the media player... but the folder "windows media player" still exist on her program files directory.. which i deleted from safe mode but comes right back when you are on normal mode...
you can't delete that folder on normal mode..
she is using windows xp proffessional ed.
now she wants to reinstall her OS just because of that...
is there any solutions to fix this problem? she is also claiming her computer got slow.. which is true when you start up..
how can she change her ports back to how they were before installing media player?
she doesn't want to do the restore point as she have lots of files and software she installed/downloaded after that point....
