How is ping a security issue
I recently tried using ping on my websites server as i own a couple of blog sites, but was unable to. I contacted my ISP but they said ping was disabled due to security issues. Could anyone tell me how this is so, im not trying to be smart just i really would like to know. Blog sites rely on ping to generate traffic. Basically i have found i can ping the sites i need to with another server when i update my blogs but if i could do this with a small php script on my server it would "tidy" things up for me.
