Am I a Spam Source? I hope not....
My clients have experienced a strange problem. Mail is being sent from their account without them even sending it.
Some of these messages are getting caught in my mail queue and I am wondering if the server is now acting as a spam source.
Beleive me I HATE SPAM and I would hate it even more if I was a source... How can I determine if I am a source and if I am how can I put a stop to it?
Here is something from my mail queue (which bounced back but that the user didn't send):
my_user@his_domain.com
This message has been rejected because it has
a potentially executable attachment "datfiles_my_user.his_domain.exe"
This form of attachment has been used by
recent viruses or other malware.
If you meant to send this file then please
package it up as a zip file and resend it.
... and there are quite a few of these (but not all .exe).
