Why linux is better for sys-admins

I am doing a small research on which OS is the best desktop for system administrators. Personally, I feel linux/BSD is the right choice.

I would like to know you views on this subject. Also, it would be interesting to see why you guys linux as the desktop especially when you are doing sys-admin works.
