iSCSI, clustering, load balanced shared hosting, any thoughts?

I understand with the coming iSCSI, you can have a server without a primary HD that links to the common iSCSI storage (or via a iSCSI gateway to your backend FC SAN or even SCSI DAS), then you boot the OS from the shared iSCSI storage and serve from there. (iSCSI can be viewed by the server as local block device)

This sounds very easy for clustering and load balancing a huge shared hosting facility (say 100,000 dynamic sites on that iSCSI with 100 servers in front) to me than the current FC SAN configuration. The cost should be much lower too if the iSCSI HBA is cheap.

* Don't mention NAS, it can't be booted over IP.

Anyone shared the same thought?
