Server Locks up after midnight - 6am very frequently...how to fix...
My server seems to lock up or freeze almost every night between 12 am - 6am, and I do not have any clue at what the problem is.
I try to login via ssh after it has logged in, and it RESPONDS but tells me the password is incorrect (which is untrue, it's the root password), I try accessing a website, and it seems apache is down, I ping the server, it responds fast. I try logging in via ftp, and it responds and goes through all the normal processes in flash ftp and then tells me incorrect login.
I try accessing cpanel/whm, either a normal user or whm root user, and it tells me incorrect login.
Can someone please tell me WHAT is wrong and/or HOW and what files to check to see what is going on?
After I contact the DC, they reboot manually and the box comes up fine, all passwords work again and everything is good until it locks up again, and so far it ONLY locks up EARLY morning, I assume more like after 1 pm - 5 pm.
The load on the box is pretty low always, it's around .3-.5 upto 5-8 (ONLY when I'm using shell to copy files around the server.)
Thanks for any response, I hope I can get some help here. Also, if anyone knows how I can download my /backup directory on the sever to my OWN windows xp pc the easiest, I was thinking of copying to a ftp directory and downloading via ftp, but I think it would crash the server if I tried to copy or move the entire 20 gb /backup directory.
