Questions about serial concentrators
First question: Anybody know what kind of software they typically run? (ie, embedded linux, embedded windows, custom os, etc.) Unfortunately those higher up in this project are wholeheartedly against *nix systems, and they wouldn't be happy if these things run Linux.
Second question: As far as I can see (barring any software issues with the product itself of course), the only immediate security concerns would be if someone was able to guess the password first to the concentrator and then to the device itself, just as if you had it connected to a server, correct? Yes, it does support SSHv2. That was one of the things I demanded it support.
