FTP Timeouts since server hardening
Today I spent my entire day trying to upload mdpro for a client. It would upload until it got to the db php files, then timeout and quit. On my end today, I:
Tried 3 different ftp clients on three different computers all running different operating systems
Bypassed my router firewall enabled, then disabled (with the exception of my 98 machine, no firewall)
I downloaded the software in both tar and zip on all machines, used fresh installs of rar software, ensured the crc was correct on the files etc.
Had my partner try uploading from his home, same issue.
I even signed up for a free hosting account.... and the files uploaded correctly to there. A friend of mine in the hosting business was also nice enough to give me a test account, and that uploaded perfectly as well.
After spending the day sending and recieving trouble tickets, we decided to remove all the security updates recently done to the vps. This has had no effect. The same timeouts continue to occur. Needless to say, I am getting a bit frustrated.
Does anyone here have any suggestions that maybe I have missed?
