Who says images can't adversely effect a server?

Now to check the PID's with Apache Status;

2468 0/328/346 W 4.33 2428 0 0.0 2.75 2.82 200.242.18.65 www.haha.com GET /bass_string_change/images/StringsStayInline.gif HTTP/1.1

2469 0/551/563 W 10.76 580 0 0.0 4.68 4.73 200.90.49.30 www.haha.com GET /bass_string_change/images/WipeFrets.gif HTTP/1.1

All these images are less than 50 kb too.

I haven't found the cause yet, we're trying out one possible solution in disabling mod_rewrite. I just thought I'd post that since it's commonly said serving up images causes little to no load on a server. Who says images can't adversely effect a server?
