VPS - redhat 9 -> CentOS 3.1 - connection timed out

Hello all,

i hope, anyone could give me some help and the topic is right in here.

i tried to upgrade my vvirtual privat server from "red hat 9" to Centos 3.1 with the how to in
WebhostingTalk Forums > Main Forums > Technical & Security Issues > Technical and Security Tutorials > HOW-TO: yum upgrade; redhat 9 -> CentOS 3.1.
(i wasnt allowed to link there?)

I can control the vps with "vps admin" and maybe theres the Problem?
Upgrading and all ran finde. If there were any problems with depencies (e2fsprogs with kernel) yum did all well.
But: after rebooting theres no way to connect to the vps. Putty said "connection timed out".
in repair mode (original stored in /repair ) i checked all files for differences (e.g. /etc/ssh/sshd_config <-> /repair/etc/ssh/sshd_config) but all seems to be ok.

Maybe the centos server did not get the ip forwarding from my hoster? What else could be the problem?

I m absolutely new in Linux and mostly use google to find answers, but therefore i couldnt find any helpful things.

I hope, anyone coud help me.

Thanks,
broth
